ABOUT BLACKDAD
Most people scroll past the moment.
I’m interested in what the moment means.
A sports photo is just a sports photo until you understand the story behind the athlete. A picture of a father with his children is just a family photo until you slow down enough to see what’s really there. And life, as a whole, is easy to overlook if you’re not paying attention.
That’s what BlackDad is.
It’s a visual journal of the life I’m living and the moments I choose to document through my lens.
My name is Justin Hill. I’m a husband, a father, and I serve in law enforcement. As a police officer, life can move fast and before you know it, time has passed you by. Photography is how I slow things down and make sense of what I see.
This platform isn’t built around one subject. It reflects real life as it happens. Family, work, sports, community, and everything in between. Some moments carry weight. Some are simple. All of them are honest.
My identity shapes how I see the world, but it doesn’t limit what I choose to capture. BlackDad isn’t about trying to define everything. It’s about documenting what’s real, as I experience it.
Some of the stories are mine.
Some belong to people around me who live with the same sense of responsibility and purpose.
All of them are worth a second look.
