Sometimes changing the narrative starts with simply showing people what is already there. Inside Jake Gaither Gym, I saw a village gathered around young Black boys with purpose, pride, and expectation. I saw fathers, mothers, mentors, families, and community members showing up for something positive. Omega Lamplighters is a reminder that the story of Black boys in our community is much bigger than the headlines we too often see. The village is still here. It is still working. And it is still helping write a better story.
